Firefly, the low-cost subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines, announced direct flights between Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang (SZB/WMSA), and Singapore Changi Airport (SIN/WSSS). Firefly will also start operating flights to Kuching, on the same day.
Datuk Captain Isham Ismail, Group Managing Director of Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), said, “The launch of these new routes marks another milestone in Firefly’s mission to deliver enhanced connectivity and convenience. Complementing ou r turboprop services in SZB, we aim to offer customers a travel experience that combines comfort, affordability, and efficiency while unlocking new travel opportunities.”
One unique perk about Firefly is that even though it is hailed as a low-cost carrier, passengers are still able to enjoy a complimentary 10kg of check-in baggage on top of free refreshments, an uncommon feature for most budget airlines.
One-way fares for the ticket start at MYR 189 (S$58) to Singapore. There will be 2 flights a day, FY3672 and FY3673, which will depart Subang and Singapore at 6.30pm and 8.45pm respectively with a flight duration of approximately 1 hour. These flights will operate 6 times per week from 24 March 2025 and will operate daily starting 30 March 2025.
