With the departure of Jetstar Asia not long ago from Singapore’s aviation landscape, comes along a new airline. This time, the airline originates from Indonesia, and it will be a frequent visitor to Singapore very soon.
Starting August 18 2025, Pelita Air Services is launching flights to Singapore Changi Airport from Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. Along with the inaugural flight to Singapore, it will also mark the airline’s first international route. It will be utilising Terminal 4 at Changi Airport, the same terminal where Jetstar Asia once operated from.
Pelita Air is a hybrid airline, with a mixture of low-cost carrier and full-fledged carrier characteristics in their service model. The airline offers free refreshments and free checked baggage along with a free carry-on, while offering seat selection for a fee. Onboard, its cabins strike a close resemblance to what you would find on any other low-cost carrier.
The airline currently operates a fleet of 13 Airbus A320-200s, along with several types of choppers and propeller/engine driven aircraft that are, unfortunately, not available to the general public.
The flight will depart from Jakarta at 7.10am local time (GMT +7), and will arrive in Singapore at 10.00am local time (GMT +8). The return flight to Jakarta will depart at 11.00am Singapore time, and will arrive at 11.50am Jakarta time. The airline will operate the route once a day.
